Spill Release Procedures:DILUTE, FLUSH AWAY W/LOTS WATER. DILUTE ACID,
PREFERABLY ACETIC ACID, MAY BE USED TO NEUTRALIZE FINAL TRACES
AFTER FLUSHING. USE CARE AS HEAT GENERATED IN
DILUTING/NEUTRALIZING. LIBERAL COVERING OF SO DIUM BICARBONATE USED
TO REMOVE CAUSTICTRACES.

Handling and Storage Precautions:AVOID ADDING HOT WATER TO CAUSTIC. IN
DILUTING, ADD CAUSTIC CAREFULLY TO WATER W/STIRRING AS HEAT IS
EVOLVED.
Other Precautions:AVOID CNTCT W/ALUMINUM, TIN, ZINC, THEIR ALLOYS, AS
H*2 FLAMMABLE GAS WILL BE RELEASED. CAN REACT VIOLENTLY W/SOME
ORGANIC CHEM INCLUDING CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS SUCH AS
TRICHLOROETHYL.
