Hazards
Health Hazards Acute and Chronic:EYE CONTACT: SEVERE IRRITATION,
REDNESS, TEARING AND BLURRED VISION. SKIN CONTACT: FREQUENT OR
PROLONGED EXPOSURE CAN CAUSE MODERATE IRRITATION DEFATTING AND
DERMITITS. INHALATION: EXCESSIVE INHALATIO N OF VAPORS CAN CAUSE
NASAL AND RESPIRATORY IRRITATION, DIZZINESS, WEAKNESS, FATIGUE,
NAUSEA, AND HEADACHE. HIGH CONCENTRATIONS MAY RESULT IN NARCOSIS.
INGESTION: CAN CAUSE GASTROINTESTIONAL IRRITATIO N, NAUSEA,
VOMITING AND DIAHREA. ASPIRATION OF MATERIAL INTO LUNGS CAN CAUSE
CHEMICAL PNEUMONITIS WHICH CAN BE FATAL.
First Aid
First Aid:EYE CONTACT: FLUSH WITH CLEAN, LUKEWARM WATER FOR AT LEAST 15
MINITUES, OCACASIONALLY LIFTING THE EYELIDS. OBTAIN MEDICAL
ATTENTION. SKIN CONTACT: REMOVE CONTAMINATED CLOTHING. WASH
AFFECTED DKIN AREA S THROUGHLY WITH SOAP AND WATER. WASH
CONTAMINATED CLOTHING THROUGHLY BEFORE REUSE. INHALATION: REMOVE TO
FRESH AIR. APPLY ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION OR ADMINISTER OXYGEN IF
NECESSARY. CALL A PHYSICIAN IM MEDIATELY. INGESTION: KEEP PERSON
WARM, QUIET AND GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. DO NOT INDUCE
VOMITING, BECAUSE ASPIRATION OF MATERIAL THE LUNGS FROM VOMITING
CAN CAUSE CHEMICAL PNEUMONITIS WHICH C AN BE FATAL.
Fire Fighting
Flash Point Method:SCC
Flash Point:=40.6C, 105.F
Lower Limits:1
Upper Limits:7
Extinguishing Media:FOAM, ALCOHOL FOAM, CO2, DRY CHEMICAL
Fire Fighting Procedures:FULL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. INCLUDING A SCBA,
SHOULD BE USED. WATER MAY BE USED TO COOL CLOSED CONTAINERS TO
PREVENT PRESSURE BUILD UP AND POSSIABLE AUTO-IGNITION OR EXPLOSION
WHEN EXPOSED TO EXTREME H EAT. AVOID SPREADING BURNING LIQUID WITH
WATER USED FOR COOLING.
Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazard:KEEP CONTAINERS TIGHTLY CLOSED. ISOLATE
FROM HEAT, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, SPARKS AND OPEN FLAME. CLOSED
CONTAINERS MAY EXPLODE WHEN EXPOSED TO EXTREME HEAT. DURING
EMERGENCY CONDITIONS, OVER EXPOSURE T O DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS MAY
CAUSE A HEALTH HAZARD.
Accidental Release
Spill Release Procedures:VENTILATE AREA. REMOVE ALL SOURCES OF
IGNITION. AVOID SKIN CONTACT AND BREATHING VAPORS. CONTAIN AND
REMOVE WITH INERT ABSORBENT AND NON-SPARKING TOOLS. REMOVE ALL
NON-ESSENTIAL PERSONAL. DIKE AROUND THE SPILLED MATERIAL.
Handling
Handling and Storage Precautions:STORE IN A COOL, WELL VENTILATED AREA
AWAY FROM SOURCES OF IGNITION. STORE LARGE QUANITIES ONLY IN
BUILDINGS DESIGNED TO COMPLY WITH OSHA 1910.106.
Other Precautions:DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF
CHILDEREN.
Exposure Controls
Respiratory Protection:WEAR A PROPPERLY FITTED NIOSH/MSHA APPROVED
VAPOR/PARTICULATE RESPIRATOR OR AN AIR-SUPPLYING RESPIRATOR UNLESS
VENTILATION IS ADEQUATE TO KEEP AIRBORNE CONTAMINATION BELOW
APPLICIABLE OSHA, PEL OR ACG IH TLV OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS.
Ventilation:PROVIDE SUFFICIENT VENTILATION IN VOLUME AND PATTERN WITH
EXPLOSION PROOF EQUIPMENT TO KEEP AIR CONTAMINANT CONCENTRATION
BELOW EXPOSURE LIMITS.
Protective Gloves:RUBBER OR NEOPRENE
Eye Protection:CHEMICAL SAFTEY GOGGLES OR FACE SHIELD
Other Protective Equipment:COVERALLS, GLOVES AND HOOD ARE RECCOMENDED
DURING SPRAY APPLICATION. PROTECTIVE CREAMS MAY BE USED FOR EASE OF
CLEAN-UP, NOT FOR PROTECTION. EYE BATH AND SAFTEY SHOWER MAY BE
NECESSARY.
